About the Client

Air North, Yukon's Airline provides scheduled and charter air service to Whitehorse from Dawson City, Old Crow, Inuvik, Fairbanks, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

Challenges and Goals

In 2002 Air North began scheduled jet service from Whitehorse to Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. The Airline has been faced with the challenge of increasing demand on these routes through enhancing the awareness of the Yukon as a destination in western Canada.

    Fall gateway getaway

• Created a weekend gateway package from Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary to Whitehorse

• The package included two nights accommodation in Whitehorse and round trip airfare from $309 per person

• Launched the promotion of the package at the Abbotsford International Air Show, the largest annual event in British Columbia, in August through a contest and show grounds misting tent profiling the package and Air North's branding

• Developed a newspaper and television advertising campaign in Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Edmonton and Calgary leveraging government co-op marketing dollars
